Bobby Witt Jr Hit by Pitch

It looks that Bobby Witt Jr avoided, what could have beeen, a serious injury after being hit by a pitch in the Royals 7-6 win over the Mariners this afternoon. He was hit with a 96 mph fastball during his at bat in the 5th inning. Thankfully x-rays came back negative, meaning no fracture, and he should be ready to go come the season start.
With that bad news out of sight what can we expect from Witt during his 2025 season. After signing a 11-year deal with the Royals last year he shouldn’t feel any undue pressure to perform during a contract year. He comes off an incredible 2024 season where he lead the majors with a .332 batting average and his second 30-30 season (32 HR and 31 SB). Projections are for him to continue this exceptional start of what is hopefully a storied career.
